The shy Extravert

Born 1955; yes getting older every year but who isn't (Any Woman!). For all it matters I'm an Aries: but supposedly not typical so why does it matter! Born in Warwick to my mom the only known woman who does get older or do I make her get old? We lived in Birmingham for the first few years in the old back-to-back houses of Hockley 21/193 Great Russell street, funny after 40 years and only being a kid back then I can still remember the address and my one and only mate Mick woodhouse playing at fireball XL5 and racing the scooters down the hill rummaging in the old bomb pecks. Mom then moved us to Yorkshire thinking the countryside would be far better for us than the City! We lived on a farm for a while; then we moved into a country village where I learned to appreciate fields and nature. Again we moved this time into the town that was it; stuck in Yorkshire for the duration! Mind it wasn’t that bad! One good thing about Yorkshire was the small country schools. I did not learn to read or write till later than usual, as is typical with a child, learning was not interesting.. Thanks to the headmaster at Misson school in Doncaster this was soon corrected Even then it was more an ability to communicate, but only just. Can you imagine reading a three-page essay out to a class with no punctuation? That's where my English was! Because I learned to read late my reading was rather eclectic having been brought up on the bible I rapidly devoured any slightly interesting book that I could find in the school library, my favourite at the time was Gavin Maxwell's Ring of bright water then C S Lewis tales of Narnia, they took me into the wonderlands of imagination. To this day my handwriting still leaves a lot to be desired, I do envy those with a copper plate style, but not those who write so neatly but have no words to write.

Better a valued sentence than an empty phrase.

Work wise I have it would seem been everything from coal Miner to Chef from TV engineer to computer engineer none qualified but hey I did the job!!
I attended a short course in 1985 to improve my English and maths, where I was introduced to the wonders of a word processor. At last one can write and correct without rewriting every sheet because of errors alas this does not improve handwriting! Its ok for Will Shakespeare he invented the language so he could change it to suit his mistakes!! I wonder if that’s why English spelling is a little odd at times! There I found that my way of speech could be easily expanded to become the short poems and stories that are on this site.. They don’t follow formal rules because I have not learned any; they are just my way of saying something. Perhaps its dribble or even babbling on but its how I have and even do see the world.

Of love, life, Childs eyes and funny smiles this is my life!

By the way more inconsequential information ladies I'm single and looking for that one in a million lady who can turn the words sad to glad in one fell swoop as in "Turn a sad song to a glad song" I was married once for eight years, that short sentence sadly actually sums it up! Children none though somewhere in this wide world is two little ladies (grown women now!) who I would have loved to have been a dad to Dian and Jennet Haycock.

The tales that make us who we are
Neither near or far from our hearts
But always a part of that heart
Though time moves us apart.
Never to fade until the grave
Reclaims our hearts.
