Slow the threads of light did grow, Jewelled strewn blades of grass did show! Amongst the new dawn lightened day, The riders strode to start their day. Each clad in leather strong, a shield, a cloak, a sword of bronze. Dressed in runes of long ago, Their task to guard the land from foe! The gates are opened, their steeds do stir, Each are eager, their masters serve, Ever happy to chaise the winds, To fly the heavens, pon mighty wings! Storm-slayer her ever watchful eyes, emerald green her scaly hide, named atop a thundercloud, that silent fell, unto her fire! Astride her back Galen Brorand, a Nordic elf renown and Proud, Master of sword and eyes of hawk, He slew twelve giants, mighty and tall. Dawn-hereld, with eyes of red, the darkest rubies bejewel her breast rainbow hues her wings are dressed The sweetest song the gods did bless! Gladreiner her rider the fairest elf! A smile so soft of satin and silk, Her bow sings songs that death does greet, For nary a target, they'd not meet! Moonlight the queen, the rarest jewel, The king she carries to battles call, so white she dazles the very sun, her blood red claws the terror call, The king so young but battle strong, Four mighty battles he has won, The elfin ways he does belong, To justice and peace he sings his song! They fly the mountains towards the sun the fiercest dragons ever known Swooping and diving laughing with joy The dew drenched skies they do belong! But ho! In the distance on the edge of night Storm-slayer did scream as foes she spied Galen called out, seven Orcs in flight returning home from an evil night! Swiftly they three did fly the winds And descend upon the foe so fleet As down they flew three arrows did speed Three Orcs to death they did greet! The king did cry "Gladreiner please! Moonlight and I do love to fight My sword does sing for blood and bone Leave some Orcs for us to fight! My Liege I take my leave and leave thee four Two apeace why ask for more! Moonlight sang her song of war and plunged them down to the valley floor She glided before the orc’s foul path And the king's sword danced its merciless path The Orc fell down unto the ground its head no longer to be found Where the body now does lie Now a demon eternal cries! To battle Galen unsheathed his sword His foe the greatest Orc of all Their mounts did fly the greatest height the blood of both did reign the skies the swords cause mighty lightning flashes the thunder clouds did cower in pity Galens blade did find its mark now his shield will show, the king of Orcs! The heart of two now left in flight Was coward beneath the riders might The legend says that on that day Mighty Orc's did learn to pray For death they found in battle proud Of the dragon riders mighty powers! As the last of the Orcs they did fall the three riders became legends all! They flew the mountains towards their home, The fiercest dragons ever known, Swooping and diving laughing with joy, The evening sun leading them home! The elfin legend of them did say, The lighting clouds and thunders light, To them did give their very life, for the sounds of the storm, tis the Dragon riders battle call! |
