A RED FLAMING SKY!

A red flaming sky, I watch, above me
Patches and stripes, red colour, showing, blood, anger and rage
Watching the news, on a screen, in front, war, and death do I see?
Hostages, children, adults, in a school, why? My mind cannot engage!

School, a place for nurture, learning of much, by the older
Suicide bombers, children, teachers, held within a brick wall
No safety defence, open to pure fear and hurt from the bully colder
Wearing explosives, ready to kill and die, these are women, war doest make fall

Such unrest, hatred, bitterness, life has no cost or value
Widows, loosing men and sons slain by the bully, did this cause
Man has forsaken of GOD, run amok, no control of the self
Children, scared, terrorised, dead, what a child never should face

As these words do appear, in front of my weeping eyes
Can I accept this slaughter, of so many, upon the same earth?
Mothers, fathers, friends, never in circumstance, given a time of goodbyes
Man, his behaviour, demeanour, fathom, understand, I do not, in thoughts, I search

How can we imagine this trauma, horror, fear of this so tragic bloodshed

A black sky I see for man!
